Pocklington Parking Bays Reduced

Driving down Market Street, Pocklington today I was surprised to see that East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) have removed 30cm from the width of parking bays.

I can see no justification for this, apart from the desire to raise revenue, as a phone call to ERYC confirmed that a PCN (parking ticket) would be issued for those who do not park within the marked bays.

As I believe this to be impossible for the majority of cars (as can be seen above) I have submitted the following complaint and Freedom of Information request to ERYC.

Complaint

Dear Sir/Madam,

Could I please refer you to https://andystrangeway.wordpress.com/2015/03/19/pocklington-parking-bays-reduced/

As I can see no justification for reducing the width of parking bays on Market Street, Pocklington I would like to register a complaint and request that they are returned to the original width to allow cars to legally park.

Kindest Regards,

Andy Strangeway
