While in Pocklington this morning I inspected the new markings for the parking bays which are now back to the original 2 metres in width. Shop keepers on Market Street pointed out to me, that for reasons unknown, East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) had made it into one long strip of parking instead of the previous situation of individual parking bays.
This has resulted in less parking spaces for cars as everyone can witness. So who authorised this and why?
As can be seen from the emails above this decision was made by Denise Flint, ERYC Assistant Engineer, Traffic and Parking and Pocklington Town Clerk Richard Woods. How they can possibly believe that this would create more parking spaces is beyond me!
Complaint To ERYC

Could I please refer you to https://andystrangeway.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/market-street-parking-fiasco-continues/
As myself and local shop keepers have witnessed the loss to parking spaces I would like to register a complaint with ERYC for making such a ridiculous decision.
In addition I request that the individual parking bays are remarked as before to maximise parking.
