Many will have been confused by the recently erected ER signs across the Lincolnshire Coast. My investigation has proved my original theory wrong – they are not directing motorists to the promised land of the East Riding.
The Evacuation Route Signage in Lincolnshire (click on the link – this is a must read) informs us that:
” ….. for public and responder safety and most effective use of responding resources, planners recommended the use of emergency evacuation route signage on all 13 identified routes, with a preference for permanent signage as being relatively cost effective and reinforcing community resilience.”
The signs are for an Evacuation Route. Who worked that out?
LCC have wasted £125,000 on this programme. I say wasted as it is believed the signs are not contained in the TSRGD2002 and as such are unlawful.
Putting their legality aside LCC must be questioned for spending £125,000 on a project motorists do not understand.
I will return to the issue of flooding on the Lincolnshire coast in the coming days.
Complaint To LCC
Could I please refer you to https://andystrangeway.wordpress.com/2015/11/28/lcc-125000-scheme-fails/
I would like to register two complaints against LCC:
- The signs are unlawful as they are not contained in the TSRGD2002
- The signs fail to give motorists the intended message and as such are a waste of tax payers money.
